Today I’m styling my favorite sneaker, Adidas Superstars. From casual chic to athleisure vibes, Adidas Superstars are an all-time classic favorite.
Hello, friends!
I’m excited to join my fashionable friends Annie, Mary Ann, Cindy and Kim.
We’re styling sneakers.

My favorite sneakers, measured by actual wears, are timeless Adidas Superstars.
Let me show you how I style them.
Spoiler alert … with pretty much everything.
WHY I LOVE ADIDAS SUPERSTARS
- Superstars are super comfortable.
- They’re easy to slip on and off. No messing around with laces.
- I can wear them with or without socks. Mostly without.
- Their streamlined, classic look works with just about everything.
- They’re a great travel shoe … and my go-to for sprinting through airports.

SNEAKERS EVERYDAY
Running errands, heading to yoga or meeting friends lunch, Superstars are always right. Here’s how I wear them …
With casual dresses … usually black or white. Topped off with a chambray shirt or denim jacket.

Khaki joggers – or chinos – with a white tee and denim jacket are a winning combo.

My favorite wide-leg denim and striped cardigan. Too many stripes?

Superstars are my go-to shoes for heading to yoga. They’re easy to slip off before going into class.

SNEAKERS FOR TRAVEL
My Adidas Superstars are well traveled. Last year they boarded flights to Italy, Mexico, Oregon, Avila Beach and Santa Monica.
Not only are they great travel kicks, but they do double duty wherever you’re going. Earlier this year when we visited Santa Monica … and did a lot of walking … and my Superstars were all stars. And this is a Superstar-centric outfit has been getting a lot of wear lately. Lightweight Alo trousers (also a wonderful travel piece), white tee, cashmere sweater and, of course, pearls!

WHERE TO BUY
In a world full of crazy-expensive sneakers, Adidas Superstars are surprisingly (relatively) affordable. Not to mention long lasting. I have no idea how long I’ve had mine, but at least 10 years. If I’m calculating cost per wear, they’re practically free. Find yours at Adidas, Zappos, Nordstrom, and Amazon.
KEEPING THEM CLEAN
Keeping white sneakers clean is not for the faint of heart. They get dirty so easily. Very easily. I feel like I scuff them up before I’ve even left the house. And driving seems especially hard on them … for that reason I have permanent scuff marks near my right toe. No worries, cleaning is easy. With the leather upper, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works wonders. Jim is the chief taker-carer of shoes in our household.
Every once in a while I toss the laces in with a load of whites.

Until then, cheers from Snowberry!

Hi Juliet
I love your superstars. I don’t think I could wear them due to the dreaded bunion but I sure love the look. You can’t go wrong with classic black and white!
Cindy, our feet really have become more of a challenge over 50, right? We’ve got what makes us comfortable … and hopefully looks good. Ha! xo
You are ove 50???? Wow, you look gorgeous. Thank you so much for your ideas, I have both both the white and the black Adidas superstar, 56 years of age but have not before felt sure about wearing my shoes with a dress, seeing your style has now given me the confidence to to do so. Thank you so much ❤️
Hello Sharon, thank you so much for the compliment. I’m actually over 60. Yikes. So glad I could inspire you to wear those your awesome superstars with a dress … so comfy, and tres chic. xo
I wear my black foam lined New Balance for long walks and white Tommy Hilfiger ones with jeans, pants and occasionally with a dress or skirt. I love the comfort!
When I was s teenager I loved white Keds and usually wore a new pair every summer…they made me feel energetic !
Morning, Leslie! I loved my kids too … the white ones. But I can’t keep them clean and finally gave up. Miss them though. xo
Love these shoes and your styling! I typically wear Superga sneakers with jeans, shorts, summer dressers and skirts too. Comfy shoes are a must with any outfit.
By the way, love the pearls!
Elizabeth … you’re right on. Comfort is everything. And thank goodness sneaks are now accepted with just about any outfit … and look great! xo
Super cute looks Juliet! I especially love your Adidas with the full pants! They look so modern and cute. Perfect travel looks too. Even your yoga outfit is great! Maybe I need a pair of these also? I am just wondering what is the difference between these and the Samba? These look like they have more cushion, which may be nice. xo
Kim, I’ve not had experience with Samba’s, but they look more low profile to me and I’ve had such trouble with me feet I’m always looking for something more substantial. Doing this post made me think more about sneaks … and I may go and try a pair on. I love the look! xo
I wear a LOT of black given my black hair, so Superstars w/ their stripe, are appealing! Like Cindy, I have bunions, but will def. check them out.
Your Jim is a GEM!
Thanks, Joan … he sure is a gem and I’ll tell him what you said. He’ll be thrilled! xo
p.s. I have been purchasing Ecco 7’s, and more recently, Vionic and Frankie4 sneakers, two brands with orthotic inserts for people who want more arch and general support/stability (which reduces impact on bunions, as well), as my custom orthotics don’t always fit great in shoes with removable insoles.
Good morning, Joan … I’ve had some serious foot issues the past year. Podiatrist recommended Hokas which were game changers for my walk and workouts. And my orthotics fit into them beautifully. When we were callow young things we didn’t consider ay of this stuff, right?!!! xo
You have the cutest style, Juliet. I wish I had your fit body. I want the shoes.
Oh, MA, hush … you’re adorable and look cute in everything! xo
Juliet,
Love the juxtaposition of sneakers and pearls.
And, thanks for the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser tip.
Happy Easter, Diney on Meercer Island
Thanks, Disney … Happy Easter to you over there on Mercer! xo
Juliet! It’s Adidas Superstars for you and Sambas for me….I love how comfortable they are and I don’t feel like I’m giving up style for comfort. You look amazing in every look!
Totally agree, Annie. Viva Adidas! xo
Hi Juliet
You are so cute and adorable, always put together “just so”! I am happy sneakers have gotten a little sleeker, can be worn almost everywhere and with anything! I always admire these Adidas on others. I’ll have to try on a pair!
I really like my Keds, and Dr Scholls makes really comfy ones. I’m building quite the sneaker collection!
Xo Heidi
Hi Heidi … I adore my Keds but can’t keep them clean. I’m hopeless. xo
I never wear tennis shoes/sneakers unless I’m exercising but this post inspired me and I popped over to DSW and bought some all white Superstars, can’t wait to wear them with my summer t-shirt dresses
That’s awesome, Vallette … always fun to try something new! xo
Hi Juliet! You always look so stylish — even when casual! And um, there is no such thing as too many stripes….
